Prof. Dr. Shishir Lakhey is widely regarded as one of the best orthopaedic surgeons in Nepal, with a distinguished career spanning over two decades in clinical practice, teaching, and research. He brings more than 20 years of experience teaching MBBS students and over 12 years of training postgraduate MS Orthopaedics residents, shaping the next generation of orthopaedic professionals.

Before joining Nepal Mediciti, he held key positions including Professor and Head of Orthopaedic Surgery at Kathmandu Medical College (KMC), Consultant at the National Institute of Neurological and Allied Sciences (NINAS) and Himal Hospital, and Associate Professor at B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS), Dharan.

A respected academic, Prof. Dr. Shishir Lakhey has presented over 30 scientific papers at national and international conferences and authored chapters in reputed medical textbooks. He also serves as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Nepal Medical Association (JNMA) and Kathmandu University Medical Journal (KUMJ), and has been an MS Orthopaedics examiner for BPKIHS, KU, and TU.

Additionally, he was a regular columnist for The Kathmandu Post, contributing insights on orthopaedic health and public awareness.
